Meet Seth
Seth is a 21-year-old who lives in one of our Erie homes. He was born with an anoxic brain injury due to a stroke in utero. His mom, Terri, adopted him at the age of 6. Seth's laugh is incredibly contagious. When he laughs, you can't help but laugh along with him. Seth shows love by leaning towards you so that your foreheads can touch.
Seth is a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan and watches every game. When they're not playing, he loves to watch The Wiggles! He observes everything and is always looking around to take in what's going on. He expresses his wants and needs through facial expressions and his body language.
Seth is very active and loves going on outings and attending our MOVE program, which provides volunteerism and community exploration opportunities.
Why EHCA?
We assist people with intellectual and physical disabilities throughout Erie, Crawford, and Venango Counties. All programs are personalized to meet the needs of the individual, and we specialize in caring for those who are considered medically fragile.
Our Options program works with those living in our homes, with a caregiver, or living independently to work toward personal goals. Goals can range from learning basic tasks like cooking or driving, finding employment, seeking housing, or any other goal an individual has set.
Project First Step reduces preventable developmental disabilities. It helps women with at-risk pregnancies deliver healthy babies and assists families in creating stable home environments.
Lastly, Life Sharing provides support and services for those caring for a loved one in the home or for those wishing to open their home to assist an individual with disabilities.
Since our founding in 1912, we have evolved to meet our community's needs while maintaining our commitment to serve the region’s most vulnerable residents.
(Your dollars will go to the EHCA Foundation, which directly supports EHCA's programs.)
